In this atlas, Manauta and Salat argue that the natural appearance of a restoration depends more on how it is layered than on the material chosen. Drawing on a very extensive repertoire of images, the work analyses how the dental tissues are organised optically and translates that reading into layering sequences capable of recreating colour, opacity, form and surface texture. Alongside the basic techniques come the most demanding characterisations, and each chapter opens with a reflection from a leading figure in aesthetic dentistry.
