What it is about

With the New Straight Wire (NSW) method, Francesco Pedetta proposes to simplify the three phases that consume most time in orthodontics: diagnosis, planning and treatment mechanics. The proposal rests on a cephalometric analysis reduced to essentials and on a working table with which to calculate the required tooth movements in advance and systematically, applying the same parameters to any patient whatever the type of malocclusion. The interest of the approach lies in its programmed character: what has to move, and by how much, is decided before starting rather than along the way. Aimed at the orthodontist seeking to protocolize their mechanics. In English.
