Single-retainer resin-bonded bridges have regained prominence as a conservative option set against the single-tooth implant, above all in young patients in whom an implant in the aesthetic zone compromises the result as the years pass. Matthias Kern details the protocol for replacing incisors with these restorations, in metal-ceramic as well as in zirconia ceramic, and shows how the same principles carry over to canines and premolars. It is a sensitive technique, and the text therefore gives express space to the errors that make it fail and to cases documented with long follow-up. A useful read for the clinician wanting to widen their minimally invasive range.
