The resorbed posterior maxilla remains an open surgical problem, and this revised edition tackles it by taking in strategies that dispense with grafting altogether. Alongside the classic lateral window for sinus elevation, the transcrestal approaches with and without grafting are described: osseodensification and hydrodynamic piezoelectric elevation, with their intraoperative complications. A full section deals with implant placement in the resorbed maxilla: short implants, extrasinus zygomatic implants, pterygoid implants and navigation for the transsinus route. The final stretch looks to maxillary bone regeneration, with tissue engineering on the horizon. Intended for surgeons and implant dentists who work the posterior maxilla.
