What it is about

Orofacial pain has been recognised as a dental speciality in its own right, and this seventh edition is written from that new position. The ICD-11 classification gives the text its structure, with updated diagnostic codes and tables that allow diagnoses to be carried over from ICD-10. Among the additions are cervical spine disorders and their associated headaches, extracranial and systemic causes of head and face pain, closer attention to the pathophysiology of headache and to the pharmacological developments in its treatment, along with sections on vaping and on the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. An English-language reference for the clinician who assesses, diagnoses and treats these conditions on the evidence.
